The Chetak’s 4.2 kW motor delivers excellent gradeability. It tackles the steep slopes near my house with ease, even with a pillion. This power is surprisingly strong for a commuter-focused EV.

The price is on the higher side compared to rivals like the Ola S1X, but you are paying for the Bajaj brand trust, the durability of the metal chassis, and the superior ride comfort. It's an investment in quality.

The single Sport mode is responsive and fun. It gives a nice burst of power when pulling away from traffic, making the ride engaging. The Eco mode is great for stretching the range when needed.

The Keyless Ignition and LED lighting are excellent modern touches that blend seamlessly with the retro body. It's easy to unlock and start, making daily use very convenient.

The Chetak is heavier than its plastic competitors (around 134 kg), which makes it feel incredibly planted on the road, especially at higher speeds. It's a solid, heavy-duty machine.

The availability of features like Reverse Mode and Hill Hold (on unlocked versions) is highly useful. Bajaj has smartly included core safety and convenience features needed for modern urban riding.

The IP67 water resistance rating on the battery and the metal body make it a truly "lifeproof" scooter. I ride through monsoon without a second thought about the electronics failing.

The 21L under-seat storage is disappointingly small for a family scooter. It won't fit my full-size helmet comfortably. Practicality takes a hit for the retro design.

I love the simple, uncluttered aesthetic. The inclusion of Front Disc Brake provides the essential stopping power needed for the 73 km/hr top speed, enhancing overall safety and confidence.

As a "Standard" variant, the display is simple (Monochrome/Basic Digital). It gives essential data but lacks Turn-by-Turn Navigation and the full app suite of the TecPac models. A compromise for the price.

The charging time is a drawback. 5 hours 30 minutes (0-100%) is quite long. It needs careful planning, as quick daytime top-ups are hard without a dedicated fast charger.

The 73 km/hr top speed is a great upgrade from the older model and is more than enough for city speed limits. The power delivery is smooth and controlled, making the acceleration very predictable.

The ride quality is superb, thanks to the legendary Single-Sided Leading Link suspension. It handles road imperfections and bumps far better than conventional telescopic forks, giving a very stable and comfortable feel.

I chose this variant for the 136 km certified range with the 3.2 kWh battery. In city traffic, I comfortably get over 100 km, which is plenty for my daily commute and occasional trips to the neighboring town.

The Chetak’s all-metal body is its unmatched USP. It feels robust and durable, unlike the plastic competitors. The classic design is a head-turner, perfectly blending nostalgia with a silent EV drive.
