I appreciate that this variant maintains the attractive LED headlamp and sequential blinkers. The styling is modern yet classic, making it a proud possession.

The weight is substantial (133 kg), which adds to the feeling of stability but makes it a bit cumbersome to push around manually. The riding posture is comfortable and upright.

This scooter is the ideal choice for budget-focused buyers who value the Bajaj brand trust and a durable metal body over performance and fancy digital features. A sensible, no-frills EV.

The 18L under-seat storage is quite small and the biggest complaint I have. It severely limits the scooter's utility for shopping or carrying a full-face helmet.

The Keyless Start/Stop feature is a fantastic modern touch that enhances convenience, setting it apart from many other entry-level scooters that still require a mechanical key.

The 160 mm ground clearance and 12-inch alloy wheels are well-suited for Indian roads. It handles bad roads and speed breakers confidently without scraping the bottom.

The 2.9 kWh battery provides a dependable range, and since I don't pay for the premium TecPac, the Bluetooth connectivity is limited to just showing my clock and battery level. Functionally minimal.

The inclusion of Drum Brakes on both the front and rear is the main area of cost cutting. For safety reasons, I wish a front disc brake was provided, even at this base level.

The cluster is a simple Color LCD display and does not include features like Hill Hold Assist or Reverse Mode unless you buy the optional TecPac. This lack of core convenience features is a drawback.

Charging takes about 4 hours 50 minutes (0-100%) with the standard off-board charger. This is acceptable for overnight charging, but the longer charging time means quick day-time top-ups are not feasible.

The Single-Sided Leading Link Suspension gives the Chetak its signature smooth ride. It manages small bumps and bad patches comfortably, providing a stable and pleasant riding experience.

The performance is conservative, with a top speed capped at 63 km/hr. This is ideal for my parents and local runs, as it encourages calm, safe riding, but it struggles to keep up on main city thoroughfares.

The all-metal body and robust build quality are fantastic for this price point. It feels durable and safe, a huge contrast to the flimsy plastic bodies of some competitors. IP67 rated for monsoon.

At ₹1.15 Lakh (ex-showroom), the Urbane Standard is the most accessible way to own a Chetak with the new 2.9 kWh battery. The 113 km certified range is just right for my daily city trips.
