Ather Enters Nepal with the New 450X Overtones Series
Ather Energy, the leading Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has officially expanded its portfolio in the international market with the launch of the Ather 450X Overtones series in Nepal. This latest release brings a fresh aesthetic update and significant technological advancements to the popular 450 series, solidifying Ather’s presence in the Nepalese EV landscape.
The launch, conducted in partnership with national distributor Vaidya Energy Pvt. Ltd., reflects Ather’s commitment to providing high-performance electric mobility to international riders.
A Fresh Look: The 450X Overtones Design
The standout feature of the new 450X Overtones series is its sophisticated "tone-on-tone" design treatment. Ather has utilized distinct textures and surface finishes to give the scooter a premium, modern look while maintaining the structural integrity of the classic 450 lineup.
The Overtones series is available in three distinct color options:
- Still White
- Space Grey
- Lunar Grey
New Technology: Elevating the Riding Experience
Beyond the cosmetic changes, Ather Energy has introduced three key technological features to the 450 series in Nepal, powered by the advanced AtherStack 7.0 software. These updates are designed to improve safety, convenience, and energy efficiency.
1. Magic Twist
The Magic Twist feature is a game-changer for urban commuting. It allows riders to decelerate using a reverse throttle action. This engages the scooter’s regenerative braking system, which not only helps slow the vehicle down but also recovers battery energy, thereby extending the scooter's range.
2. Infinite Cruise
Designed for long-distance comfort, the Infinite Cruise feature allows riders to maintain a steady speed with reduced throttle input. This reduces rider fatigue and provides a smoother, more consistent cruising experience on open roads.
3. Voice on Ather
Connectivity takes center stage with "Voice on Ather." By pairing a compatible Bluetooth headset or smart helmet, riders can now issue voice commands directly to the scooter. This allows for seamless control over:
- Navigation systems
- Locating nearby charging stations
- Adjusting various scooter settings
Expanding the EV Ecosystem in Nepal
Since entering the Nepalese market in November 2023, Ather Energy has rapidly built its infrastructure. With the support of Vaidya Energy, the company has successfully established a network of 14 experience centres and 31 fast-charging points across the country.
The introduction of the 450X Overtones series, alongside the family-oriented Rizta scooter (introduced in 2025), demonstrates Ather’s strategic focus on capturing the growing demand for sustainable transport in Nepal.
