TVS Motor Hits Record High with 37,756 EV Sales in Jan 2026; Gains 28% Market Share

TVS Motor Company has solidified its position as India’s leading electric two wheeler manufacturer, reporting its highest ever monthly EV retail sales in January 2026. The company dispatched 37,756 electric units, marking a massive 50% year on year growth compared to 25,195 units in January 2025.

The Rise of the "Orbiter" and iQube Dominance

The surge is fueled by the dual pronged success of the veteran TVS iQube and the rapid scale up of the TVS Orbiter, the company’s latest entry into the mass market segment. While the broader two wheeler industry grew by 28%, TVS’s EV wing outpaced the market with 50% growth, proving that consumer trust is shifting back to established legacy players.

Market Shift: Legacy vs. Startups

January’s data reveals a significant reshuffle in the E2W leaderboard. While TVS recorded over 1,100 EV registrations per day, competitors like Ola Electric have seen a sharp decline in volumes amid rising service concerns. TVS now accounts for roughly 28% of all electric two wheelers sold in India, a new benchmark for the Hosur based giant.

"The demand for both our flagship iQube and the new Orbiter has been incredibly encouraging," a company spokesperson noted. "We are now exploring a further expansion of our EV manufacturing capacity to meet this domestic and global surge."
