Tata Motors is all set to strengthen its dominance in the Indian electric vehicle market. The homegrown automaker has officially confirmed that the 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift will make its much anticipated debut on February 20, 2026.
Coming just two years after its initial launch, this mid cycle refresh aims to align the electric micro SUV with the latest design language seen on the recently updated petrol Punch, while adding segment first technology to take on rising competition.

What’s New in the 2026 Tata Punch EV Facelift?

1. Sharper Design & Connected Tech

Following the "New DNA" of Tata’s SUV lineup, the Punch EV facelift will sport a more aggressive fascia. While it retains the signature split LED headlamps, the biggest change is expected at the rear with the introduction of connected LED tail lights. New aero designed alloy wheels and refreshed front and rear bumpers will further distinguish it from the outgoing model.

2. Segment-First Level 2 ADAS

The most significant buzz surrounds the inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). If launched with Level 2 ADAS, the Punch EV will become the first micro SUV in India to offer features like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control, setting a new benchmark for safety in the sub compact segment.

3. Massive Infotainment Upgrade

Inside the cabin, the 10.25-inch screen is likely to be replaced by a massive 12.3-inch cinematic touchscreen infotainment system, borrowed from the Nexon EV. Other premium additions may include:

  • Panoramic Sunroof (a highly requested feature).

  • Ventilated Front Seats and wireless phone charging.

  • 360-degree Surround View Camera for effortless parking.

  • Harman Kardon Premium Sound System with a subwoofer.

Battery, Range, and Performance

Under the hood, the 2026 Punch EV is expected to retain its successful Acti.ev architecture. While the current 25kWh (Medium Range) and 35kWh (Long Range) packs will remain, industry rumors suggest Tata might introduce a larger 40.5kWh battery pack option. This could push the ARAI-certified range past the 450km to 500km mark, making it a viable primary car for long distance travel.

Expected Price and Competition

The current Tata Punch EV is priced between ₹9.99 lakh and ₹14.44 lakh (ex-showroom). With the addition of ADAS and a larger screen, the 2026 facelift is expected to command a premium of ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 depending on the variant.

Upon launch, the Punch EV facelift will continue its rivalry with the Citroen eC3 and the upcoming Hyundai Inster EV, while also providing an electric alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
