Simple Energy Ultra Gen 2 Price Leaked : Ex Showroom Hits ₹2.16 Lakh. Is it Worth the Premium Hype?

The pricing for the highly anticipated next generation electric scooter from Simple Energy has reportedly been leaked ahead of any official announcement by the brand. A dealership quotation document, originating from Dharwad city in Karnataka, has surfaced online, suggesting a staggering on road price of over ₹2.3 Lakh for the "Simple Ultra Gen 2."

This leaked pricing structure, if accurate, positions the Simple Ultra Gen 2 as perhaps the most expensive mainstream electric scooter in the Indian market, raising serious questions among enthusiasts about its value proposition.

The Sticker Shock: Breaking Down the Leaked Numbers

According to the leaked documents (seen above), Simple Energy is adopting an ultra premium pricing strategy.

The quotation lists the Ex Showroom Price (ESP) of the Simple Ultra Gen 2 at ₹2,15,999.

However, the final cost to the customer is significantly higher. When adding mandatory charges listed in the Dharwad quotation—including ₹11,536 for standard insurance, RTO fees, road tax, and a mandatory ₹2,999 "Simple Pack" subscription—the "Cash On Road" price escalates to ₹2,33,096.

For customers opting for insurance add ons, the price touches nearly ₹2.36 Lakh.

The ₹40,000 Warranty Question

Perhaps the most surprising revelation from the leak is the cost of optional add ons. The document shows a separate sheet for extended warranty and accessories that could push the final price nearly to the ₹3 Lakh mark.

The company appears to be offering a "Lifetime Warranty" for an eye watering ₹40,000.

Lower tier extended warranties are listed at ₹10,029 (+5 years) and ₹6,489 (+2 years). Furthermore, a standard accessory kit, including essentials like a crash guard, floor mat, and helmet, totals another ₹11,151.

Analysis: Is the Simple Ultra Gen 2 Worth the Price?

This leaked pricing has sent shockwaves through the EV community. For context, established premium rivals like the Ather 450X Apex and the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 generally command on road prices between ₹1.6 Lakh to ₹1.85 Lakh, depending on the state subsidies.

At ₹2.33 Lakh on oad, the Simple Ultra Gen 2 is demanding a premium of roughly ₹50,000 to ₹70,000 over its toughest competitors.

While Simple Energy has touted class leading range figures and performance specs for their upcoming models, the "worth it" factor is now the primary concern. Prospective buyers will need to carefully evaluate if the Gen 2's real world performance and build quality can justify such a significant price hike over proven market leaders.

Awaiting Official Confirmation

It is crucial to emphasize that Simple Energy has not officially revealed this price. This data is based entirely on a dealership leak from Dharwad and pricing may vary based on state level EV policies and final company decisions.

However, if these numbers hold true, Simple Energy is taking a bold gamble on the Indian consumer's willingness to pay top dollar for premium electric mobility. All eyes are now on the brand for an official explanation of this pricing structure.
