Simple Energy Crosses 10,000 Annual Sales Milestone For The First Time In 2026
Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Simple Energy has achieved a major milestone by crossing 10,000 units in annual sales for the very first time.
According to Vahan registration data, the Bengaluru-based EV startup successfully registered deliveries of 10,429 units between January 1 and August 31, 2026. This marks an impressive 203 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to the 3,436 units sold during the exact same period last year.
Rapid Growth and Rising Market Share
Simple Energy has steadily gained ground in the competitive Indian EV market, remaining a regular fixture in the monthly top 10 electric two-wheeler (2W) OEM listings since February 2026. The brand recorded its highest monthly retail sales in March 2026, touching 1,780 units.
Since the company began commercial sales in 2023, its cumulative performance highlights rapid scaling:
- 2023: 66 units
- 2024: 1,433 units
- 2025: 6,628 units (362% YoY change)
- 2026 (Jan–Aug): 10,429 units (203% YoY change)
- Cumulative Total: 18,556 units
Entering the Family Scooter Segment with the New "Wave"
This growth momentum comes right on the heels of Simple Energy launching its most accessible product yet—the Wave electric scooter—priced from Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
While the brand initially focused on performance EVs like the Simple One, the introduction of the Wave targets the high-volume family e-scooter segment, pitting Simple Energy against established market rivals like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida, and Ather Rizta.
The new Wave family scooter is available in four variants based on battery capacity:
- Wave S (Base): Offered in 2.2kWh (110km IDC range) and 2.7kWh (132km IDC range) options.
- Wave (Middle): Features a 3.7kWh battery with a 171km IDC range.
- Wave + (Top): Comes equipped with a 5kWh battery, offering a segment-leading 243km IDC range.
Simple Energy has announced that deliveries for the new Wave will officially commence on September 25, 2026.
Scaling Manufacturing Capacity and Retail Footprint
To sustain this sales trajectory and meet expected consumer demand for the Wave, Simple Energy is actively scaling up its manufacturing capabilities and retail footprint.
The company currently operates with a production capacity of 3,000 units per month and has expanded its presence to over 75 retail outlets across 63 cities in India. Key markets include Bengaluru, Delhi, Patna, Nagpur, Bhopal, Agra, Goa, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Chennai.
With the newly launched Wave positioning the company to tap deeper into the country's highest-selling e-scooter subcategory, industry watchers will be tracking whether Simple Energy can climb even higher up the sales leaderboards as the year concludes.
