River Mobility, the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup, has crossed a major manufacturing landmark, rolling out its 20,000th Indie electric scooter from its facility in Hoskote, Karnataka.

This achievement highlights the rapid scaling of the company, coming just six months after it crossed the 10,000-unit mark. The milestone was reached within just two years of the brand's launch, driven by a surge in demand for the "SUV of scooters" and an aggressively expanding dealer network.

Accelerated Growth and Retail Expansion

River Mobility’s growth trajectory has steepened significantly in recent months. The company currently operates close to 40 stores, having cemented a strong position in major South Indian cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Coimbatore.

To capture the growing EV market in North and West India, River has recently expanded its retail footprint into:

  • Delhi : Opened a new company-owned store.

  • Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh

  • Maharashtra

Future Roadmap : As part of its next phase of retail expansion, River plans to enter Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat shortly.

Indie Gen 3 and Strategic Vision

Coinciding with this production feat, River recently launched the Indie Gen 3, the latest iteration of its flagship model, offering updated features for urban riders.

Aravind Mani, Co-founder and CEO of River Mobility, commented on the milestone :

"Achieving the 20,000-Indie milestone in just under two years is a clear sign that our customers see value in what we're building, and it reflects the trust our dealer principals have placed in us. As we expand to more cities and scale up production at our factory, we remain committed to improving the experience for every rider."

Scalability and Investor Backing

The manufacturer’s Hoskote facility is designed for scalability to support near-term retail goals. River has also announced plans to introduce new products and significantly increase production capacity to meet the rising demand from urban commuters.
