Ola Electric Revolutionizes EV Service: Open-Sourcing Hyperservice for Spares and Growth

Ola Electric has announced a major strategic shift, open-sourcing its proprietary service infrastructure and technology under the expanded Hyperservice initiative. This bold move is designed to fundamentally change the landscape of electric two-wheeler service in India.

The core of the initiative involves making genuine EV spare parts available directly to customers and service providers through its app and website. Crucially, Ola will also release diagnostic tools and technician certification programs online. This will empower thousands of local mechanics and fleet operators to properly service Ola's vehicles, creating a wider, more accessible service ecosystem.

Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and MD of Ola Electric, highlighted that this action delivers "true service freedom", leveraging their Direct-to-Customer (D2C) model to ensure transparency, eliminate intermediaries, and provide consistent, high-quality service across the country.

The Business Impact : Strengthening Unit Economics

Beyond customer service, this strategy is sharply focused on business growth. By gaining control over the distribution of high-margin spare parts and accessories, Ola Electric aims to significantly strengthen its unit economics. This vertical is anticipated to scale organically as the company's electric vehicle user base rapidly expands, providing a critical boost to the company's revenue and profitability goals. The move signals a clear commitment to maximizing efficiency and control across the entire EV service value chain.
