Ather Energy Q2 FY26 Results: Electric Scooter Sales Surge 67%, Market Share Hits 17.4%
Ather Energy has announced record-breaking results for the second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year (Q2 FY26), demonstrating significant growth in sales, revenue, and market penetration. The electric scooter manufacturer sold 65,595 units, marking a 67% year-over-year (YoY) increase.
Total income for the quarter grew by 57% YoY to 9,407 million INR (approx. 940 crore), the company's highest yet. This growth was fueled by a rapid expansion of its retail network and strong consumer demand, pushing Ather's pan-India market share to 17.4%.
Financial Highlights & Improved Profitability
Ather's Q2 performance also showed a strong move toward profitability. The company reported its best-ever EBITDA margin at (10%), a significant 1,100 basis point (11%) improvement compared to the same quarter last year.
The Adjusted Gross Margin stood at 22% , supported by a reduction in the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) per unit.

Ather's growth strategy is centered on rapid national expansion. The company added 78 new Experience Centers (ECs) in Q2, bringing its total to 524 in India.

Middle India : A strategic focus on states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh yielded a nearly doubled market share, growing from 8.8% to 14.6% in one year.

New Products to Widen Appeal : Rizta, BaaS, and EL Platform
Ather also used the quarter to launch new products and services aimed at attracting a wider range of consumers.

New Variants : The company introduced higher-range versions of its popular models, the 450 S (161 km IDC range) and the Rizta S (159 km IDC range).

Battery as a Service (BaaS) : In a significant move to lower the entry price, Ather launched BaaS, allowing customers to purchase the Rizta for just ₹ 75,999 and pay for battery usage starting at ₹ 1/km.

New 'EL' Platform : The company unveiled its new, versatile, and cost-optimized "EL" scooter platform, which will be the base for future models.
This was complemented by the launch of AtherStack 7.0, a software update introducing new features like Pothole Alerts, Crash Alerts, and Voice Commands. The Ather Grid charging network also expanded to 4,322 points.
