Ather Energy Expands EV Charging in Northeast with A Plus Charge Partnership – Big Boost for Guwahati, Shillong & More!
In a significant move to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in Northeast India, Ather Energy has teamed up with A Plus Charge, the leading Charge Point Operator (CPO) in the region, to create a wide and powerful EV charging infrastructure network across key northeastern cities.
This strategic partnership is set to reshape the EV landscape of the region, starting with fast-charging stations in Guwahati, Shillong, Dibrugarh, and Siliguri. Expansion is already planned for cities like Agartala, Dimapur, and Jorhat in the next phase.
What the Partnership Brings:
- Advanced Ather Grid Chargers compatible with LECCS standard
- Powered by A Plus Charge’s high-capacity tech infrastructure
- Focus on urban EV corridors, high-footfall areas, and commuter routes
- Aimed at two-wheeler EV users and light electric vehicles (LEVs)
Samyak Jain, Founder & Director of A Plus Charge, stated:
“This collaboration will not only accelerate EV adoption in the Northeast, but also reinforce A Plus Charge’s position as the region’s top full-stack CPO.”
This is also a major win for Ather Energy, as it expands its already-robust Ather Grid charging network into a region with immense growth potential and limited existing infrastructure.
Why It Matters:
- Northeast India has so far remained under-penetrated in terms of EV infrastructure.
- This initiative supports India’s clean mobility mission and creates a backbone for sustainable transportation in a hilly, ecologically sensitive region.
- The availability of high-speed public EV chargers is critical to address range anxiety and build trust among potential buyers.
