Ather Energy and Bolt.Earth Partner to Expand Fast Charging Network Across 100+ Cities
In a major move to tackle range anxiety for electric two wheeler riders, Bolt.Earth, India’s largest EV charging network, has announced a strategic partnership with Ather Energy. This collaboration officially integrates Bolt.Earth’s Blaze DC fast-charging network directly into the Ather ecosystem, providing thousands of riders with seamless access to high speed power.
Seamless Integration: Find, Book, and Charge
The core of this partnership is the deep technical integration between the two platforms. Ather owners no longer need to toggle between multiple apps to find a reliable charge.
-
Ather App & Dashboard: Riders can now locate LECCS-enabled Blaze DC chargers directly on their scooter's touchscreen dashboard and the Ather smartphone app.
-
Live Status: Real time availability ensures riders don't arrive at a busy station, making trip planning more predictable.
-
Unified Booking: Charging sessions can be booked and initiated via the Bolt.Earth app, ensuring a "plug-and-play" experience.
The Blaze DC Advantage: 40km in 15 Minutes
The partnership immediately unlocks over 195 Blaze DC fast chargers across more than 100 Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Visakhapatnam.
These chargers utilize the LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System) Type 7 standard, an indigenous Indian charging standard designed specifically for light electric vehicles. With a power output of 3 kW, these chargers can add approximately 40 km of range in just 15 minutes, significantly reducing downtime for daily commuters and delivery fleets.
Future-Proofing India’s EV Infrastructure
This announcement is just the first phase of a broader rollout. Bolt.Earth has confirmed plans to introduce 6 kW and 12 kW Blaze DC chargers in the coming months. These higher capacity units will cater to both two-wheelers and three-wheelers, focusing on high-density urban corridors where quick turnaround times are critical.
"Easy access to fast charging is the cornerstone of a truly scalable EV ecosystem in India," said S. Raghav Bharadwaj, CEO & Co-Founder of Bolt.Earth. "Our partnership with Ather Energy brings reliable fast charging to riders across 100+ cities, making the EV transition effortless for everyone."
