TVS launches new EV members to its iQube family: All you need to know

Redefining mobility and commuting,

EV

companies in India are striving very hard to introduce new technologies to the riders. The dynamic market has compelled EV OEMs to continuously check the trend of the users' demands and needs. While being mindful of the user’s wide range of preferences and tastes, TVS in its latest move has launched its new range of iQube electric scooters. The newly launched members of the Iqube family are TVS iQube 2.2kwh, TVS iQube ST 3.4 Kwh and TVS iQube ST 5.1 Kwh. So let's take a peek and find out what does the legacy of the 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler company– TVS has to offer us.

TVS iQube 2.2kwh

The new iQube variant of the TVS electric scooter comes with a 2.2kwh battery pack thanks to which the lightweight EV can achieve a top speed of 75 km/hr and can travel up to a distance of 75 km. Also, unlike its competitors the vehicle offers a fast charging option which can charge the vehicle from 0-80% in just 2 hours. It means, now your scooter will also be joining you during your lunch breaks.

This newly launched EV variant will now be the most basic offering of the company which will compete with the Ola’s S1X 2kwh model. The TVS iQube 2.2kwh ex-showroom price is Rs 94,999. However, the ongoing EMPS scheme of the government may bring some concessions to the vehicle’s price. Although all the details of the vehicle have not been released, the company has already started taking bookings for this affordable ride. Moreover, the TVS iQube 2.2 KWh model is right now available in two colour options only i.e. pearl white and hazelnut brown. Despite some restrictions like the lack of adjustable rear suspensions, the base version of the iQube– 2.2.kwh model was the need of the hour and has now really completed the TVS EV lineup in the true sense.

TVS iQube ST 3.4 Kwh

The new ST variant of the TVS electric fleet is a more advanced version of the company’s previous offering and now is the base version of the ST variant of the company. Now, the newly launched EV provides a top speed of 78 km/hr and can sustain its charge efficiently while travelling a long distance of 100 km.

This newly launched electric scooter will compete against the Ather’s 450X series and Ola S1 X+ among others. The ST model of the TVS iQube not only boasts a powerful performance but is also equipped with some comfort features like 32-litre boot space and some advanced technology like a 17.7 cm touchscreen panel and 118+ connected options. The TVS iQube ST 3.4kwh ex-showroom price is Rs 1,56000, which in comparison with the

Ola S1X+

is a little bit high but more affordable than Ather’s 450X pro version. The company’s long-awaited ST version was expected to have more features and some disruptive announcements, but the company seems to have some other marketing tactics up its sleeves.

TVS iQube ST 5.1 Kwh

The company has also revised its top offering in order to reach a more comprehensive group of audience and widen its potential customer base. The newly launched TVS iQube ST top model comes with a 5.1 Kwh battery pack, enabling the electric scooter to run up to 120 km in eco mode and 110 km in power mode. Being the top most model, the TVS iQube ST boasts a top speed of 82 kmph and features a 32-litre boot space just like the ST’s base model. In addition, because of the high-power battery, the EV takes only 3 hours to charge fully.

Other features like a 17cm touchscreen and 118+ connected options are common in both the ST models. Netizen’s review suggests that they are a little bit disappointed with this particular model as they expected more. The iQube ST 5.1 Kwh model is available in four different colour options i.e. Starlight blue, Titanium Grey-Matt, Coral Sand glossy and Copper Bronze-Matt.

All the TVS iQube models including new and old, come with an efficient motor option that can generate 3kw nominal power and 4.4kw peak power. Customers will also get a 950-watt charger with their ride to charge their scooter everywhere and anywhere they want.

Announcing their new launch and stealing the monthly spotlight of the Ev industry, the TVS EV Business Senior Vice President Manu Saxena said, "We are thrilled to introduce two new variants for the TVS iQube: TVS iQube ST and an all-new 2.2 kWh fastest charging option.
