Zelio E-Mobility Bolsters Eastern India Presence with New Cuttack Manufacturing Plant
Leading electric two and three wheeler manufacturer Zelio E-Mobility has announced the opening of a strategic new manufacturing facility in Cuttack, Odisha. This move marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy, specifically targeting the high growth markets of Eastern India.
The decision to establish a local production hub follows exceptional consumer demand in Odisha and West Bengal. By shifting production closer to these core markets, Zelio aims to drastically reduce delivery timelines which previously averaged one week from its Haryana base while significantly lowering logistics costs and improving supply chain efficiency.
Massive Surge in Production Capacity
The commissioning of the Cuttack plant, combined with optimizations at its existing facility, has catapulted Zelio’s total production capabilities.

The Hisar plant saw its capacity grow through process level optimizations, including the installation of extended conveyor belts and advanced machinery. The new Cuttack facility, set up with an investment of under INR 3 crore, is already operational and expected to contribute to revenue immediately.
Driving Regional Growth and Employment
Beyond production numbers, the Cuttack facility is a major win for the local economy. It is expected to generate 60 to 100 local jobs across production and operations. Zelio is also in active discussions with the Odisha government regarding potential incentives and support programs to further the state's EV ecosystem.
Kunal Arya, Managing Director of Zelio E-Mobility, stated:
"Eastern India has emerged as one of our strongest growth regions. Setting up the Cuttack facility brings us closer to our riders and dealers, enabling faster deliveries and improved serviceability. This is a vital step in strengthening India’s EV ecosystem."
Strong Financial Footing
The expansion comes on the back of a stellar financial performance. Zelio E-Mobility reported a consolidated revenue of INR 134.78 crore and a net profit of INR 11.87 crore in H1 FY26.
The company’s recent SME IPO of INR 78.34 crore provided the necessary capital for this expansion, with INR 36 crore specifically earmarked for new facilities and capacity building. With a network of over 337 dealerships across 20+ states, Zelio is rapidly positioning itself as a dominant player in the affordable EV mobility segment, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
