Zelio E-Mobility Announces New EV Manufacturing Plant in Coimbatore Shares Hit New Highs

Zelio E-Mobility, one of India's fastest-growing electric two and three-wheeler manufacturers, has officially announced the expansion of its manufacturing footprint into South India with a new state-of-the-art facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

This move marks the company’s fourth major production hub, signaling a strategic shift to capture the burgeoning EV market in the southern corridor.

Strategic Expansion into the "Manchester of South India"

The upcoming Coimbatore plant spans approximately 39,000 sq. ft. and is designed to handle the end-to-end assembly of electric scooters, regional storage, and logistics.

"South India represents a key growth corridor for Zelio, with rising demand for electric mobility and strong market potential," said Kunal Arya, Managing Director of Zelio E-Mobility. "The Coimbatore facility is a strategic step to streamline our supply chain and support the rapid expansion of our dealer network."

Financial Surge: IPO Success and H1 FY26 Results

The expansion follows a stellar financial performance by the BSE-listed SME. Since its IPO in October 2025, which raised ₹78.34 crore, the company’s stock has maintained an impressive upward trajectory.

As of March 11, 2026, Zelio reported:

  • Consolidated Revenue (H1 FY26) : ₹134.78 crore.
  • Profit After Tax (PAT) : ₹11.87 crore.
  • Market Position : Over 350 dealer outlets across 20+ states.

The company's shares, which debuted at ₹154.90 (a 13.9% premium), have seen sustained interest from institutional investors as the firm continues to double its growth year-over-year.

Product Innovation: Zelio and Tanga Brands

Zelio E-Mobility offers one of the most diverse EV portfolios in India, catering to both passenger and commercial segments:

  • Zelio (Electric 2-Wheelers): Features the high-speed Mystery model alongside popular low-speed models like the X Men 2.0, Gracy Pro, and the Logix cargo scooter.
  • Tanga (Electric 3-Wheelers): Focuses on the last-mile delivery market with models like the Tanga Butterfly and Tanga Fine.

The Future of Sustainable Mobility

By establishing a base in Tamil Nadu—often called the "EV Hub of India"—Zelio is positioned to benefit from local talent and a robust automotive ecosystem. This move is expected to reduce delivery lead times for southern dealerships and lower overall logistics costs.
