Zapp Electric joins hands with Bounce Infinity to manufacture i300 electric 2W

The British electric vehicle manufacturer Zapp Electric Vehicles Group and Bounce Infinity, on Friday, announced a business partnership to improve Zapp's i300 electric two-wheeler assembly and distribution in India.

The goal of this partnership is to provide Zapp market entry in India by utilising Bounce's production expertise and market presence. Based on Zapp's specifications, Bounce Infinity is expected to handle the contract manufacture of Zapp's electric vehicles

"Bounce's manufacturing expertise and market presence in India is expected to accelerate Zapp's commercial rollout in key urban areas in the country," stated Swin Chatsuwan, Founder and CEO of Zapp EV.

He further stated, “India is currently one of the world's biggest markets for two-wheeler sales, and by 2030, it's expected that 45% of vehicles sold there will be electric. We believe that the i300's design features make it a great option for personal mobility in light of India's increasing affluence and urbanisation.".

Moreover, Bounce Infinity will help Zapp EV get the licences required to homologate its goods for sale in India. It is anticipated that the entire procedure will be finished within 120 days after the memorandum of understanding's effective date. Both businesses will also look at the potential of a distribution alliance to increase Zapp's product availability throughout India.

"By combining our manufacturing strengths with Zapp's innovative product lineup, we aim to make India a two-wheeler manufacturing hub for the entire world," stated Vivekananda Hallekare, CEO and co-founder of Bounce Infinity.

Since the detachable and portable battery packs of Zapp's i300 may be charged from any regular power socket, the product's commercial release does not require a specific infrastructure for charging.
