Yuma Energy and Quantum Energy Partner to Enable Battery Swapping for Quantum Bziness
In a strategic move to eliminate vehicle downtime for commercial electric vehicle (EV) users, Yuma Energy has announced a partnership with Quantum Energy. The collaboration integrates Yuma’s high speed battery swapping network with the Quantum Bziness, an electric two wheeler tailored for last mile delivery and high utilization business applications.
Announced on April 8, 2026, this partnership aims to address the primary barrier to commercial EV adoption: the long duration required for traditional plug in charging.
Eliminating Downtime with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS)
The Quantum Bziness is engineered specifically for fleet operators and independent delivery partners. By making the vehicle compatible with Yuma Energy’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, riders can now swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones in approximately two minutes.
Yuma Energy currently maintains a robust infrastructure in urban centers, boasting 99.9% network uptime. This ensures that commercial riders, whose livelihoods depend on vehicle uptime, can operate with "refueling-like" convenience.
Key Highlights of the Partnership:
-
Faster Turnaround: "Minute-level" battery swaps replace hours of plug in charging.
-
Operational Efficiency: Targeted at the last-mile delivery sector to maximize daily earnings.
-
Reliable Infrastructure: Access to Yuma’s advanced energy ecosystem with high network availability.
-
Sustainable Growth: Supporting India’s transition toward zero-emission commercial mobility.
Leadership Perspective
Muthu Subramanian, Managing Director & GM of Yuma Energy, emphasized the impact on worker productivity:
"Electric mobility must work for the people who depend on their vehicles every day. By making battery swapping as fast and simple as refueling, we are enabling productivity and improving earnings potential for Quantum Bziness riders."
Chakravarthi C, Managing Director of Quantum Energy, highlighted the technical synergy:
"Integrating Yuma’s battery swapping solution enhances convenience and operational efficiency for commercial users, reinforcing our commitment to delivering practical and scalable EV solutions."
Future Outlook for India’s EV Ecosystem
This collaboration underscores a growing trend in the Indian EV market where manufacturers are prioritizing interoperability. By decoupling the battery from the vehicle through BaaS, fleet operators can reduce the initial purchase cost of EVs while ensuring their fleets remain on the road longer.
As urban logistics continue to shift toward electrification, the integration of high uptime swapping networks like Yuma's with purpose built commercial scooters like the Quantum Bziness is expected to accelerate the phase out of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in the delivery sector.
