Xiaomi to unveil its first EV SU7 in India

Earlier this year, after the introduction of Xiaomi’s SUV7 electric car, the global EV industry experienced quite a surge in the competition. The SU7 is reported to be on display on July 9 in India. However, plans for an Indian launch have not yet been disclosed by the Chinese corporation.

According to its pricing when it was first introduced in China, the SU7 is anticipated to compete with the BYD Seal and start at about $30,000, or about Rs 25 lakh.

There are two variants of the Xiaomi SU7: the all-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive ones. The former has a 400-volt electrical design that powers a HyperEngine V6 super electric motor located at the back that generates 295 horsepower (220 kW) and 400 Nm of torque. The automobile can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.28 seconds, according to Xiaomi.

The very potent all-wheel-drive variant has a twin electric motor that generates an incredible 664 horsepower (495 kW) and 838 Nm of torque. It is built on a more robust 800-volt design. The twin motor trim, according to the manufacturer, can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.78 seconds, matching the world's fastest Ferraris. Its maximum speed is 265 kmph.

There are three different versions of the SU7: SU7 Basic, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max.

The SU7 comes with two different battery pack configurations. The entry-level model has a battery with a 535 km range that is rated at 73.6 kWh by the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). According to the CLTC, the top-of-the-line model has a 101 kWh battery that is supposed to have an 800 km range. Xiaomi has also disclosed that it plans to release larger, longer-lasting 132 kWh and 150 kWh batteries in the future.

The Xiaomi EV has quick charging capabilities and can charge its batteries to 350 km and 510 km within 15 minutes of charging, respectively, thanks to its advanced 486V and 871V designs.

Packed with cutting-edge features, the Xiaomi SU7 comes with the Xiaomi Pilot, which is offered in Pro and Max versions. The SU7's Pilot autonomous driving feature, which can be utilised for self-parking, highway driving, and car summoning, is powered by the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin processing platform, one LiDAR, and eleven HD cameras.

The cabin's equipment includes a 16.1-inch 3K central console, a 7.1-inch rotating dashboard, a 56-inch HUD head-up display, and two tablet mounts for the backseat passengers. Through the CarIoT Ecosystem, the SU7 can sync with over a thousand Xiaomi smart home gadgets. Depending on where the SU7 is, lights and air conditioners will switch on by itself.
