VinFast Redefines Security with Lac Hong 900 LX Armored EV

Vietnam's leading automaker, VinFast, has officially unveiled the Lac Hong 900 LX, a groundbreaking armored electric vehicle that sets a new standard for national manufacturing and high-security transport. Developed in partnership with the renowned Canadian firm INKAS, the vehicle was showcased during Vietnam's 80th National Day celebrations.

The Lac Hong 900 LX is more than just a luxury SUV; it's a "mobile fortress" built to the world's most stringent security standards, marking a significant technological milestone for the young automaker.

Elite Protection: Achieving VPAM VR7 Certification

The vehicle's primary achievement is its VPAM VR7 ballistic certification, a rating typically reserved for vehicles used by heads of state and global dignitaries.

This certification was earned after rigorous testing at Germany’s Beschussamt Ulm facility, where a test model endured:

• 440 live rounds from military-grade rifles, including the AK-47 and M14.

• 11 controlled explosions from DM51 grenades and mines, targeting both the floor and roof.

Achieving this standard places the Lac Hong 900 LX in the same elite category as the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard and the BMW 7 Series Protection.

Performance Under Armor: Electric Power Meets Security

Based on a heavily modified VinFast VF 9 platform, the Lac Hong 900 LX is an engineering marvel. Despite weighing nearly five tons, its performance remains uncompromised.

• Powertrain : Two electric motors deliver a combined 455 horsepower.

• Acceleration : Propels the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in under 10 seconds.

• Battery : A reinforced 123-kWh battery pack is protected against deformation and thermal shock.

• Safety Features : Equipped with run-flat tires (capable of traveling 80 km after puncture), optional air filtration, automated fire suppression, and satellite communication systems.

VinFast engineers completely redesigned the vehicle's frame and battery enclosure to absorb massive shocks without electrical failure.

A Masterpiece of Vietnamese Culture and Luxury

The Lac Hong 900 LX is also a statement of national identity. Its design blends modern technology with deep cultural meaning.

• Exterior : The grille features patterns inspired by traditional Đông Sơn bronze drums, and the hood is adorned with a gold-plated Lạc bird, a national emblem.

• Interior : The cabin is lined with Golden Nanmu wood, a material once reserved for imperial palaces. This is complemented by hand-stitched Nappa leather and 24-karat-gold-plated details.

• Executive Cabin : A soundproof glass partition separates the driver from the rear lounge, which features reclining seats with heating, cooling, and memory functions.

A New Symbol for Vietnam

Twelve units of the Lac Hong 900 LX have already been delivered to Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For the first time, international dignitaries will be transported in domestically produced vehicles built to global protection standards.
