VinFast plans to launch Minio Green EV: Finally, a competitor to MG Comet?
VinFast, the Vietnam-origin electric vehicle manufacturer, has registered a patent for the design of the Minio Green, the company’s soon-to-be-launched vehicle.
The design reveals that the car will be a 3-door compact city EV, which will compete with the MG Comet EV, expected to be launched in a similar price segment, as per CarDekho.
The boxy design of the vehicle features round edges and is equipped with 13-inch steel wheels with a black finish.
As per the model already available in the Vietnamese market, the car is likely to come in a four-seater configuration, displaying a black and blue interior theme and a basic cabin design. In addition, the car is expected to have a 4-way powered driver’s seat, a driver’s display, a sound system with 2 speakers and connected car tech.
Moreover, the Minio Green's features include a rear motor configuration that produces 27 PS and 65 Nm, complemented by a 14.7kWh battery pack. The car claims to have a range of 170 kilometres on a single charge and a top speed of 80 kmph. Additionally, 12kW AC charging will be supported by the Minio Green.
After the launch, there will finally be a competitor to the MG Comet EV in the Indian EV market. While the Comet EV is now priced between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 7.63 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), plus an additional battery rental fee of Rs 3.1 per km, the Minio Green's price is still unknown.
