VinFast partners Castrol India for after-sales services and expansion of EV sales
VinFast Auto India has joined hands with Castrol India to offer after-sales support to its electric vehicle customers in India with its network of over 750 Castrol Auto Service outlets in over 300 cities.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) signed on Oct.1, Castrol workshops will set up service bays branded with VinFast, manned by certified EV technicians and filled with authentic VinFast parts. VinFast will provide service manuals, diagnostic tools, training, and warranty coverage processes, whereas Castrol will ensure that the workshops meet the necessary infrastructure and capability standards.
Recently, the Vietnamese automaker inaugurated its first foreign assembly unit in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with a starting capacity of 50,000 vehicles and a potential to reach 150,000 units.
By the end of 2025, the company will seek to set up 35 dealerships in 27 different cities, partnering with various dealer groups.
According to Pham Sanh Chau, who is the CEO of VinFast Asia, the partnership guarantees that customers will be able to access services nationwide. He remarked that the initiative is in line with the commitment of both companies to aid India's shift toward sustainable mobility.
Meanwhile, Rajeev Govil, Senior Vice President of India B2B at Castrol India, stated that in the context of India's expanding electric mobility sector, after-sales service will be vital for establishing customer confidence. He highlighted the company's expertise in servicing conventional passenger vehicles.
Recently, VinFast introduced the VF 6 and VF 7, two electric SUV models, in India. The company, a subsidiary of Vingroup JSC (one of the largest conglomerates in Vietnam), manufactures electric vehicles. Whereas Castrol India Limited, a subsidiary of the BP Group, has been operating in India for 115 years and has a distribution network that reaches over 150,000 retail outlets across the country.
