Ultraviolette X47 launches: India's first radar-integrated electric bike takes on petrol rivals

Ultraviolette Automotive has launched its most ambitious and technologically advanced electric vehicle yet, the X47 Crossover. Positioned to disrupt the mid-range motorcycle segment, the X47 is the world's first commercially available electric bike to feature an integrated radar and camera safety system, a move set to attract tech-savvy riders across India.

Pricing, bookings, and delivery details

The X47 Crossover is available at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹2.49 lakh for the first 1,000 customers. The standard price will be ₹2.74 lakh afterward, making it a competitive alternative to popular petrol-powered adventure and touring bikes.

  • Bookings are open now on the company's official website.

  • Deliveries are scheduled to begin in October 2025, just in time for the festive season.

  • A special Limited Edition Desert Wing variant is also available for pre-order, featuring a unique khaki color scheme and additional touring accessories.

Game-changing safety technology

The headline feature of the X47 is its "UV Hypersense" system, powered by a rear-mounted 77Ghz long-range radar. This technology makes advanced rider-assistance systems (ADAS) a reality for electric two-wheelers in India.

  • Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist: Alerts the rider to vehicles in blind spots via alerts on the console and mirror-integrated light strips.

  • Rear Collision Warning: Detects rapidly approaching vehicles from behind, triggering hazard lamps to warn both the rider and other motorists.

  • Dual Dashcams: Front and rear 1080p HDR cameras provide a continuous loop recording, which can be locked in case of an emergency crash, providing crucial evidence.

  • Dual Display Setup: An optional secondary screen allows riders to view real-time footage from the dashcams, enhancing situational awareness.

Performance and range built for versatility

The X47's performance credentials challenge its petrol counterparts head-on, delivering a mix of city-friendly agility and highway capability.

  • Powerful Motor: The electric motor delivers a peak power of 40 HP and a staggering 610 Nm of torque at the rear wheel.

  • Rapid Acceleration: It can sprint from 0 to 60 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 145 km/h.

  • Dual Battery Options: Riders can choose between two battery packs: a 7.1 kWh unit with a 211 km IDC range and a larger 10.3 kWh unit offering a robust 323 km IDC range.

Why the X47 is a major disruptor

The launch of the X47 marks a significant shift for Ultraviolette, known previously for its high-performance F77 sports bike. This new crossover model, built on the F77 platform but with design and ergonomic changes, signals the company's ambition to capture a wider audience.

For consumers, the X47 offers a compelling package that combines:

  • Accessibility: An attractive introductory price that competes with traditional bikes.

  • Technology: Cutting-edge safety features that are a first in the segment.

  • Practicality: A design better suited for both daily commutes and long-distance touring.

With deliveries beginning in October, the X47 is set to make a significant impact on India's evolving two-wheeler market.
