TVS iQube Set to Get Android Auto Support; Unveiled at EICMA 2026

TVS Motor Company has officially confirmed that its best-selling electric scooter, the TVS iQube, will soon receive Google Android Auto connectivity. The announcement was made during the company’s global showcase at the EICMA 2026 motorcycle show in Milan, Italy.

With this integration, the TVS iQube becomes the second model in the brand’s electric two-wheeler portfolio to feature Google’s projection system, following the flagship TVS X performance scooter.

What Does Android Auto Bring to the TVS iQube?

Currently, the higher-tier variants of the TVS iQube (including the iQube S and iQube ST) are equipped with a 7-inch full-colour TFT touchscreen display. While the system already supports TVS’s proprietary SmartXonnect suite via Bluetooth and telematics, Android Auto integration will overhaul the in-ride user interface.

Key features expected with this update include:

  • Native Google Maps Navigation: Mirror turn-by-turn navigation directly onto the console with live traffic updates, eliminating the need to mount external smartphones on the handlebar.
  • Media & Playback Controls: Direct on-screen controls for music and podcast streaming apps such as Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music.
  • Hands-Free Communication: Streamlined incoming call notifications, messaging alerts, and voice-assisted replies via Google Assistant.
  • Integrated Telemetry HUD: Riding-critical data—including real-time speed, battery State of Charge (SOC), estimated distance-to-empty (DTE), and trip statistics—will remain visible alongside phone mirroring widgets.

Leveraging the TVS-Google Partnership

This is not TVS’s first collaboration with Google. The Hosur-based manufacturer previously partnered with Google to deliver wireless Android Auto capabilities on the TVS X, powered by its larger 10.2-inch HD tilt-adjustable screen.

Extending Android Auto to the mass-market iQube ecosystem signifies TVS's push to bring car-like software experiences to standard commuter electric two-wheelers in India and overseas markets.

Wireless Support & OTA Rollout

While the EICMA 2026 announcement confirmed the development, TVS has not yet disclosed all operational specifics:

  1. Wired vs. Wireless Connectivity: The company did not specify whether the iQube will adopt a fully wireless projection setup like the TVS X or require a physical USB connection inside the apron pocket.
  2. Availability for Existing Owners: It remains unconfirmed whether current iQube owners with 7-inch displays will receive the update through an Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware upgrade, or if the functionality will be exclusive to upcoming manufacturing batches.
  3. Apple CarPlay: As of now, TVS has made no commitment regarding Apple CarPlay compatibility. Given Android’s dominant market share in India, the rollout is initially focused entirely on the Android ecosystem.
