Toyota reveals Innova EV concept: Here is what you need to know

Toyota has revealed and staged its Innova EV concept at the Jakarta, Indonesia International Motor Show. Initially, the concept vehicle was revealed at the event's 2022 edition. However, this time around, Toyota has updated its look and revealed some new information about its powertrain.

A 59.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack powers the all-electric Innova, producing 179 horsepower and a torque of 700Nm. The battery may get charged using both AC and DC systems. However, Toyota has not disclosed the maximum range of the Innova EV.

In terms of design, the 2025 version of the Innova EV concept differs slightly from the existing diesel-powered Innova Crysta. The iconic geometric headlights, which are now joined by a light strip and have new LED signatures, flank the almost closed-off grille region upfront. The EV point is emphasised with thinner fog lights on the bumper and a blue accent on the Toyota emblem.

It has new 16-inch alloy wheels, a blacked-out roof and pillars, and side profile decals in shades of blue and grey. The MPV features blue borders and translucent, linked LED taillamps on the back, along with "BEV" badging on the boot lid.

In contrast to the exterior, the Innova EV's cabin is quite similar to the Innova Crysta. However, it has a flat floor beneath the battery pack, which gives the backseat passengers more space. Its cabin is distinguished by its electric blue accents surrounding the gauges, dual-tone upholstery, and absence of a gear lever. Large touchscreen screens, leather-wrapped steering wheels, computerised driver readouts, second-row captain chairs, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and more are examples of creature amenities.
