Tesla Expands India Footprint: Fifth Supercharger Station Opens at Nexus Seawoods Mall, Navi Mumbai

Tesla continues its aggressive infrastructure rollout in the Indian market, officially launching its fifth Supercharger site today. Located at the Nexus Seawoods Mall in Navi Mumbai, this installation marks a significant milestone as the company’s first ever in mall charging station in the country.

As Tesla gears up for wider vehicle availability, the brand is prioritizing "charging anxiety" solutions for local owners. This new hub is strategically positioned to serve both city residents and commuters traveling along the high traffic Mumbai Pune Expressway.

High-Speed Charging Meets Convenience

The new Navi Mumbai station isn't just a single plug in a corner; it is a robust charging hub designed for high turnover and efficiency. The installation includes:

  • 4 V3 Superchargers: Delivering up to 250kW of power, allowing compatible Tesla models to regain up to 120km of range in just 5 minutes.

  • 4 Destination Chargers: These 11kW AC chargers are ideal for shoppers planning a longer stay at the mall.

  • Prime Location: Situated in the heart of Navi Mumbai, the station is minutes away from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport.

"The goal is to integrate charging into the daily lives of our customers," a Tesla spokesperson noted. "By placing these at premium retail destinations like Nexus Seawoods, owners can grab a coffee or shop while their car preps for the next leg of their journey."

The "Tesla Experience" Pop-Up

In addition to the charging infrastructure, Tesla has set up a pop up experience center in the mall’s central atrium. Shoppers can get an up close look at the Tesla Model Y, interact with product specialists, and even schedule test drives. This "lifestyle-first" approach is seen as a move to build brand familiarity before high volume deliveries begin across the state.

Growing the Indian Network

With the Navi Mumbai site now live, Tesla’s Supercharger network in India currently consists of five strategic locations:

  1. Mumbai (BKC)

  2. Navi Mumbai (Nexus Seawoods)

  3. Delhi

  4. Gurugram (Two locations)

Industry experts suggest that this expansion is a precursor to Tesla’s rumored plans for a local assembly plant, as the company looks to capitalize on India’s rapidly evolving EV ecosystem.
