TATA.ev Announces Major Expansion of EV Charging Infrastructure in India

New Delhi, 13th February 2025 – TATA.ev, the pioneer of India's electric vehicle (EV) revolution, has unveiled an ambitious initiative to significantly expand the country’s EV charging infrastructure. Under its newly launched Open Collaboration 2.0 framework, TATA.ev aims to more than double the number of available charging points to 400,000 by 2027.

As part of this expansion, TATA.ev has introduced the TATA.ev Mega Charger network, a co-branded network of ultra-fast and reliable charging stations developed in collaboration with key Charging Point Operators (CPOs). This initiative is set to revolutionize the EV charging experience by providing seamless, high-speed charging solutions across India. Additionally, the company has committed to installing over 30,000 new public charging stations through its Open Collaboration framework.

To further enhance user confidence and convenience, TATA.ev has launched the TATA.ev Verified Chargers program, ensuring trusted and standardized charging options. Alongside this, a dedicated Charging Helpline has been introduced to provide real-time support, helping alleviate range anxiety among EV users.

A Strategic Step Towards a Greener Future

The announcement was made at a high-profile industry event, where representatives from leading CPOs such as Tata Power, Statiq, Zeon, and ChargeZone joined Mr. Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. Together, they reaffirmed their commitment to driving India’s clean mobility transformation.
