The most significant news for buyers is the introduction of the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. This program drastically lowers the entry price of the EV by separating the cost of the vehicle from the battery.

  • Battery Usage Charge: Approximately ₹2.6 per km.

  • Full Ownership Price: Starts at ₹9.69 lakh and goes up to ₹12.59 lakh (ex showroom).

The 2026 model now supports 65 kW DC fast charging, setting a new benchmark for its segment.

  • 20% to 80% Charge: Only 26 minutes.

  • Quick Top-up: Adds 135 km of range in just 15 minutes.

To further boost owner confidence, Tata Motors is offering a lifetime, unlimited kilometre battery warranty for original owners.

Design & Feature Upgrades

The exterior has been sharpened with a cleaner, closed off grille design and new aero focused 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin gets a premium tech overhaul:

  • Displays: Dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and the digital instrument cluster.

  • Premium Comfort: Ventilated front seats, a voice assisted sunroof, and a wireless charger.

  • Safety: Six airbags now come as standard across all five variants (Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+ S).

The 2026 Tata Punch EV continues to lead the sub ₹15 lakh electric SUV market, competing directly with the Citroen eC3 and providing a compact alternative to the MG Windsor EV.
