Tata Power Renewable Energy Solutions to establish 200 fast-charging stations

Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited is one of India's major providers of EV charging solutions. The company announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tata Motors Limited (Tata Motors), India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, to establish 200 fast-charging stations for electric commercial vehicles (CV) in all major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, and Kolkata.

The strategic move widens their ongoing partnership in offering sustainable mobility solutions, with an emphasis on simple charging options for small electric commercial cars, according to the statement.

Under the MoU, Tata Power EV Charging Solutions would establish 200 fast-charging stations for electric commercial vehicles in all major cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.

Tata Motors and Tata Power will provide special charging pricing to Tata Motors' electric CV owners, leading to lower operational expenses and more profitability for consumers, according to the announcement.

The projected development of the charging network will provide electric commercial vehicle customers across the country with access to about 1000 strategically situated fast chargers.

Vinay Pathak, Vice President & Business Head - SCV&PU, Tata Motors, stated in a statement, "This partnership will also explore avenues to maximise the use of renewable energy to make electric vehicle operations greener."

According to Deepesh Nanda, CEO and MD of Tata Power Renewable Energy, "This collaboration underlines our commitment to accelerating e-mobility by providing an expansive and reliable EV charging network across India."

Tata Power's EZ Charge network now includes over 1,000,000 residential chargers, 5,500+ public, semi-public, and fleet charging points, and 1100+ bus charging stations spread over 530 cities and towns.

These chargers have been deliberately placed in a variety of easily accessible areas, including roads, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, and residential complexes.
