Tata Nexon.ev now available in a larger 45 kWh battery, travel 489 km range in single charge
Tata Motors recently launched a bigger 45-kWh battery pack for the Nexon.ev. The Nexon.ev with the 45 kWh battery costs Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new 45 kWh battery pack employs prismatic cells. The vehicle comes with a volumetric density of 186 wh/lit and claims to increase energy density by 15%. Tata claims an 8% improvement in gravimetric energy density, a 45% increase in cell utilisation factor, and a reduction in charging time from 56 minutes to 40 minutes.
The Nexon.ev 45 kWh variant has a range of 489 kilometres on a single charge (C75 range: 350-370 km). With a quick charging rate of 1.2C, the battery of the vehicle can get charged from 10-80% in just 40 minutes. Additionally, the vehicle can give a range of up to 130 km in just 15 minutes of charging.
The new battery pack drives a single electric motor with an output of 110 kW and a wheel torque of 2,500 Nm. Tata claims 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and a peak speed of 150 km/h.
In terms of offerings, the Nexon.ev 45 kWh model has a 360-degree camera, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, an electronic tailboard release and air purification. All four disc brakes, Hill Hold Control, six airbags, and TPMS are standard safety equipment and Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold.
