Skoda to launch India’s first EV by Sept.2025: Will it be Enyaq iV?

The top automaker, Skoda, has finally decided to launch its first electric vehicle in India amid its growing EV market. It is anticipated to be marketed under the name Enyaq iV, which is currently offered in the international market.

According to reports, the vehicle was scheduled to launch last year. However, due to internal reasons, the debut date was pushed back. The company's brand director, Petr Janeba, confirmed the news while stating that the newest product in the EV market will be available sometime in September of this year.

According to a report by Autocar, officials of the company have reported that the Enyaq and the Enyaq Coupe will be built on the same MEB platform as the Elroq EV. However, the company will take the final call on which of the three EVs will be launched in India based on the finalised government policy by March 2025.

The model has already appeared on several occasions in India. Additionally, it was observed at the Bharat Mobility Show and during national testing. Important elements have been unveiled during the largest auto show, including a redesigned exterior and a premium-class interior.

The next EV is expected to be available in the range-topping Enyaq iV 80x model, according to the reports. It will be powered by two motors, one on each axle, and a 77kWh battery. It is anticipated to produce up to 261 horsepower. A 125kW DC fast charging option will be available for the unit, which should provide 513km (WLTP) on a single charge.
