River Indie to have 8-Year or 80,000km warranty

River Indie will now come with an 8-year or 80,000-kilometre extended warranty program. The warranty scheme by the Bengaluru-based two-wheeler company will include the electric scooter’s battery and motor to promote customer confidence in the River brand. 

The new warranty scheme will commence from 1st October for all future and existing customers. Meanwhile, the existing customers who have previously opted for the 5-year extended warranty program can choose an upgrade for the new 8-year scheme within a month. 

The new extended warranty will provide protection if the battery's State of Health (SOH) falls below 70% or if the motor stops working even after repair. Customers with a current 5-year extended warranty can purchase the plan for Rs 3,399 + GST for riders who already have a 5-year extended warranty.

Today’s consumers value long-term trust and dependability, and with this 8-year warranty covering both the battery and motor, we aim to go beyond expectations by reinforcing our promise of durable and dependable mobility solutions,” Financial Express reported. 

At the moment, River has 32 showrooms in 15 cities, including Kochi, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mysuru. The company has recently opened stores in Pune, Vijayawada, and Trivandrum, and it plans to open more in the future. By 2026, River intends to have a significant presence in all of India's major cities through a combination of dealership partners and company-owned stores.
