River crosses INR 100 Cr revenue milestone, sold 1,000 units per month since vehicle’s launch

The company is planning to open new outlets in Pune, Vijayawada, and Trivandrum. By 2026, River hopes to have dealerships and company-owned stores operating in more than 100 cities.

River crosses INR 100 Cr revenue milestone, sold 1,000 units per month since vehicle’s launch

River, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer, has surpassed the INR 100 crore revenue milestone within four years of its founding. As of March 2025, the company's Indie electric scooter has sold 1,000 units per month since its launch two years ago.

 

According to River's CEO and co-founder, Aravind Mani, the business has established a foundation in production, distribution, and research & development. Further, he added that these achievements help River's efforts to expand operations and introduce new products. 

 

As of now, River has 20 stores in Bengaluru, Hubli, Hyderabad, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Vellore, Kochi, Tirupati, Coimbatore, and Mysore. Moreover, in the upcoming weeks, the company is planning to open new outlets in Pune, Vijayawada, and Trivandrum. By 2026, River hopes to have dealerships and company-owned stores operating in more than 100 cities.

 

Supported by investors like Yamaha Motor Corporation, Mitsui & Co. Ltd, Al Futtaim Group, Lowercarbon Capital, Marubeni Corporation, Toyota Ventures, Trucks VC, and Maniv Mobility, River was founded by Aravind Mani and Vipin Georg in March 2021.

 

The River Indie scooter, sometimes known as the "SUV of scooters," has a sturdy build, plenty of storage, and an emphasis on functionality for urban residents. River has placed its stores in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities to capitalise on the growing demand for electric vehicles.
