Raptree.HV becomes India’s first EV brand to secure the government’s backing
Raptree.HV has become India’s first EV brand to secure the government’s backing through financial aid from the Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science & Technology.
Raptee.HV is now the first electric vehicle motorbike original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India to get TDB, the Centre's fund that previously provided financial support for Bharat Biotech's Covaxin.
As per the company, it is seeking an entry into the $1 billion performance electric motorcycle sector by using the financial aid to improve its one-of-a-kind high-voltage technology platform.
Dinesh Arjun, CEO & Co-Founder, Raptee.HV, stated, "This support from the Technology Development Board is a strong endorsement of Raptee's mission to redefine performance electric mobility, from India, for the world".
According to Raptee.HV, this government support will advance their growth strategy in the billion-dollar performance e-motorcycle sector and enable the extension of their high-voltage (HV) technology, which was initially created for e-automobiles.
Earlier, in 2021, Raptee.HV has become the only homegrown OEM to receive ₹3.25 crore non-dilutive grant from ARAI-AMTIF.
With TDB's most recent sponsorship, Raptee.HV now joins other well-known success stories that previously benefited from TDB support, such as TATA Indica and Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 vaccine.
