Pune, Aurangabad all set to welcome EV and Battery Manufacturing Plants: CM Shinde
The state government of Maharashtra has authorised projects totalling INR 40,000 crore, including an
electric vehicle
facility and an EV battery production plant in Pune and Aurangabad, Chief Minister Eknath stated. He further announced a total of INR 12,482 crore to be invested in the EV and battery production complexes. He stated that over the following several years, 12,000 battery-swapping stations will be installed around the state by a private business, Gogora India Pvt Ltd.An electric vehicle and battery manufacturing project for Pune and Aurangabad has been authorised by the Maharashtra government. A scheme to manufacture buses in Pune using hydrogen and electricity has also received government approval.
Gogoro India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of a Gogoro corporation with headquarters in Taiwan, would invest Rs 12,482 Crore in this project to construct an EV and Battery production plant in Pune and Aurangabad. The business has been given permission to build the infrastructure for the 12,000 battery-swapping centres it plans to open throughout Maharashtra. Another project of INR 776 crore has also been approved by the government for Pune.
