Porsche launches Macan EV RWD in India: All you need to know

Porsche has introduced two new Macan EV models to the Indian market, with prices starting at Rs 1.23 million. The upscale e-SUV made its debut in this market with a single Turbo grade, which has also seen a price increase.

In addition to the new entry-level Macan, EV Porsche has introduced a new 4S version, priced at Rs 1.39 crore. The pricing of the Macan EV Turbo is now Rs 1.69 crore instead of Rs 1.65 crore.

Porsche's first rear-wheel drive SUV is the entry-level model, which has a single electric motor located in the back. The Macan EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 miles per hour in 5.7 seconds with its motor's 360 horsepower and 563 Nm of torque. Its maximum speed is electronically regulated at 220 mph. 

Porsche has also introduced an available 20-inch Macan S alloy wheel and a new exterior colour choice called Slate Grey Neo. For the whole range, an optional new off-road design package is also offered, which improves the ground clearance by 10mm and raises the approach angle.

A 100kWh battery pack is included with each of the three trim levels. The Macan 4S EV reaches 606 km on a single charge, the entry-level model reaches up to 641 km, while the range-topping Macan Turbo EV gives 591 km. Because it is built on the PPE platform, the e-SUV has an 800V charging design that allows for DC charging of up to 270kW. The Macan EV's battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 21 minutes with the right fast charger.

Luxury electric SUVs like the Mercedes EQE SUV, BMW iX, and Audi Q8 e-tron compete with the Porsche Macan EV. The two new models are now accepting reservations, and delivery is scheduled to start later this year.
