Mysuru welcomes Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply’s high-capacity private EV charging station 

Munigopal Raju, Managing Director of the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), opened a new, high-capacity private EV charging station in Mysuru, The Hindu reported. 

As per the statement released, the newly established charging station will feature two high-capacity 180 kW hubs and will be located at Aditya Tech Park, Koorgalli Industrial Area, Mysuru, the report added. 

The recently opened facility is also the first e-bus charging station in Mysuru and was established by Epic Enterprises, Bengaluru, in partnership with Zeon Electric.

Noting the upcoming surge of EV adoption, Mr.Raju highlighted the need for EV charging stations and their benefit to the public. 

According to him, to facilitate consumers, the CESC is looking into a proposal to set up a dedicated EV cell. Citing Raju, The Hindu reported, “By adopting electric vehicles, everyone can contribute to the green mobility revolution and promote green energy.” 

Presently, Karnataka has 5,880 public charging stations around the state, while Mysuru, which is quickly becoming a tier-2 EV centre, has 20 private charging facilities in addition to 57 public charging stations. 

According to the statement, Zeon Electric, which installed the first EV charging station in Tamil Nadu, runs more than 450 stations throughout South India, with 99% of its charging stations situated at popular tourist locations and alongside key roads.

The inauguration event saw the presence of CESC Technical Director D.J. Divakar, former CESC Managing Director G. Sheela, CESC General Manager Ramaswamy, and representatives from Epic Enterprises and Zeon.
