MG Motor UK rolls out new MGS6 EV, an all-electric SUV
MG Motor UK has rolled out the new MGS6 EV, introducing the all-electric SUV in three variants that claim a range of up to 329 miles with rapid charging capability. The all-electric SUV gets a 77 kWh battery, rear-wheel and all-wheel drive choices, and a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
The latest car fleet will include three trim levels for different customers. For entry-level customers, there is the SE Long Range, which has a single 180 kW motor and a WLTP combined range of 329 miles. The Trophy Long Range adds high-end entertainment and comfort amenities while matching this range and power output, according to electric hybrid vehicle technology.
The high-performance can lover opt for the Trophy Dual Motor, the new model’s top variant. The car comes with a claimed range of 301 miles and can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 5.1 seconds, thanks to its 266 kW all-wheel drive system. All three models feature fast charging, allowing the car to get charged from 10% to 80% in 38 minutes and have five drive modes with five regeneration settings, including a one-pedal driving option.
Built on the company’s Modular Scalable Platform, the MGS6 EV integrates robust handling with a roomy interior. The platform was known to be used previously in the MG4 EV. AS per the portal of electric hybrid vehicle technology, the car features a 12.8-inch infotainment and a 10.25-inch driver display in its standard model, while the Trophy models have heated and ventilated front seats, an 11-speaker music system, a panoramic sunroof and a head-up display. The car also offers interior trim options to include Grey or beige leather-effect seats with suede inlays.
Head of Product and Planning for MG Motor UK, David Allison, said that MGS6 EV is “a significant new offering from MG” that builds on the success of models like the MG4 EV hatchback. With over 100,000 electric vehicles already delivered to UK customers, the manufacturer aims to provide “a stylish SUV that stands apart from the crowd,” according to electric hybrid vehicle technology.
The brand's EV lineup is being expanded with the addition of the MGS6 EV and the recently released MG IM6 SUV.
