MG Motor overall sales dip, ZS EV sales touch an all-time high
In June 2024, JSW MG Motor India registered retail sales of 4,644 vehicles. The business declared that in June 2024, sales of its flagship SUV, the ZS EV, reached an all-time high. New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) continue to be a major contributor to the company's overall sales, accounting for 1861 units during this time, or over 40% of sales. Compared to June 2023, when it sold 5,125 units, the company's June retail sales decreased by 9% year over year to 4,644 units.
Additionally, the Cloud EV, a new electric vehicle, is in the pipeline of the MG motor to be introduced in India by September of this year. It will become a part of MG's electric vehicle lineup, which already includes the Comet and ZS models. Given that its proportions and drivetrain are quite comparable to those of the ZS EV, it will be fascinating to see where the Cloud EV sits in the MG EV lineup. Thus far, we've managed to get glimpses of the Cloud EV in testing with some of its patent photos.
With dimensions of 1.85 metres in width, 1.65 metres in height, and approximately 4.3 metres in length, the Cloud EV is a crossover which can home people. With headlights at the bottom and an LED DRL light bar up front, it features a simple design. With a longer bonnet, the front is similar to the Comet. The alloy wheels with a windmill design, flush-fitting door handles, and the charging outlet located on the front quarter panel are all visible from the side profile. A linked light bar with LED tail lamps is also attached to the back end.
