MG Motor India teases with glimpses of its upcoming electric car– Cloud EV
MG Motor India on Friday teases its audience with glimpses of the exterior features of its upcoming electric vehicle, designed on the inspiration of Bajoun Cloud EV.
According to a report by Motor Beam, in recent months, the electric car has been witnessed undergoing testing on several occasions. Moreover, a few weeks ago, patent photos of the car were also released.
The MG Cloud EV which is designed for India is expected to include a fully digital instrument cluster and a floating touchscreen infotainment system similar to the model offered in Indonesia under the Wuling brand
The dashboard is expected to come with horizontal slats spanning its length, hiding the AC vents. The two-spoke steering wheel is equipped with the controls of the infotainment system.
The spy photos revealed, according to Motor Beam, show some external features, such as sleek all-LED headlights, an LED light strip linking the headlights across the nose, and an illuminated MG logo along with the panoramic sunroof that is highlighted in the teaser.
The EV's interior promises enough room for the five-seater variant, because of its born-EV architecture.
A 360-degree camera, speakers positioned on the inside of the doors, completely retractable front seats, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite are among the other innovations that were noted in the photos. However, which of these features will be incorporated in the India-spec model is yet unknown.
According to MG Motor India, The MG Cloud EV is a crossover utility vehicle (CUV) which combines the features of an SUV and a sedan. The vehicle features smooth surfaces and flush door knobs while boasting a simplistic design. The front and back are decorated with full-width LED light strips. Along with its expanded quarter glass sections and big glasshouse, the car also features steeply sloped front and rear windscreens.
Although the exact battery specifications for the Indian market are yet unknown, the worldwide Cloud EV is available with two different battery pack options: a 37.9kWh pack that can go up to 360 km, and a 50.6kWh pack that can travel up to 460 km. A 134 HP electric motor installed on the front axle powers both versions.
The Cloud EV from MG Motor India is anticipated to cost between Rs. 20 and 25 lakhs (ex-showroom). The vehicle is expected to go on sale over the holiday season, along with the pricing announcement.
