Entering a completely new industry, Patanjali, an Ayurvedic company, has shown its intention to launch an electric scooter with a 440 km range starting only at ₹14,000, EVmechanica reported.&nbsp;

Equipped with a removable lithium-ion battery, the electric scooter can get completely charged in just 3 to 4 hours and can reach a top speed of 60 kmph.&nbsp;

The vehicle is reported to be 75 to 80 kg in weight and is designed considering students, women and all daily commuters in tier-2 cities who are looking for an affordable and cleaner means of personal transport. Moreover, in terms of safety, the vehicle features drum brakes in both front and rear.&nbsp;

EVINDIA has not yet been able to claim the credibility of the news, however, many reports surrounding the internet have already created a buzz in the electric scooter market. In addition, Patanjali has also not yet officially announced the launch of the vehicle, it has unveiled a phaseout plan to start a pilot project in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Although the company has yet to declare the booking process, it is expected that customers will be able to book the electric scooter through online registration by a dedicated mobile app. The vehicle is expected to be launched by the end of this year.&nbsp;

China's established volume of power batteries reached a record 54.5 GWh in September, marking a year-on-year increase of 49.6 per cent and a month-on-month increase of 15.5 per cent from August, citing figures of China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance (CABIA), CNEVPOST reported. Maintaining its lead with a 44.02 per cent share, CATL installed 23.99 GWh of power batteries in September, however, the company showed a decline of 0.44&nbsp; percentage points against August's 44.46 per cent.&nbsp; BYD installed 13.18 GWh of power batteries in September, placing second with a 24.2 per cent share, a 0.77 percentage point decrease from 24.97 per cent in August. CALB's power battery installed capacity was 3.65 GWh in September, placing third with a 6.69 per cent share, a 0.65 percentage point decrease from 7.34 per cent in August. Gotion High-tech placed fourth in September, with 3.16 GWh of installed capacity and a 5.8 per cent market share. Gotion's share climbed by 1.21 percentage points in September, up from 4.58 per cent in August, the highest gain among the top 15. In September, China's lithium ternary battery installed capacity was 13.1 GWh, accounting for 24.1% of the total, an increase of 7.4% year on year and 8.2% from August. The installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries was 41.3 GWh, accounting for 75.8 per cent of the total, an increase of 70.9 per cent year on year and 18 per cent from August. In September, CATL, CALB, and LG Energy Solution had the most installed capacity of ternary batteries, accounting for 73.15 per cent, 9.27 per cent, and 6.79 per cent, respectively. CATL, BYD, and CALB dominated the LFP battery market in terms of installed capacity in September, with 34.8 per cent, 31.8 per cent, and 6.91 per cent, respectively.

Maintaining its lead with a 44.02 per cent share, CATL installed 23.99 GWh of power batteries in September, however, the company showed a decline of 0.44  percentage points against August's 44.46 per cent.
