Mercedes-Benz India has officially confirmed the addition of the new-generation GLB EV to its local portfolio. The announcement came directly from Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO - Mercedes-Benz India, during the brand's half-yearly sales update. As Mercedes-Benz continues to accelerate its electrification strategy in India, the GLB EV stands out as a critical step in expanding the luxury EV segment.

Design and Platform

Built on the innovative Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform, the GLB EV blends the practicality of the combustion-powered GLB with the efficiency of modern electric powertrains. While retaining the recognizable boxy SUV silhouette, the electric variant features a distinct sealed-off front grille, integrated illuminated stars, and aerodynamically optimized flush-fitting door handles.

Performance and Efficiency

Globally, the GLB EV offers robust performance figures and industry-leading charging capabilities. While Mercedes-Benz India is yet to confirm which specific configurations will arrive, the international model showcases the platform's full potential.

The vehicle is globally available in two distinct powertrain setups:
