Performance, Range, and 800V Fast Charging
The highlight of the Mercedes CLA EV is its incredible efficiency. The CLA 250+ is equipped with an 85.5 kWh battery pack, delivering a WLTP-claimed range of 792 km. It uses a rear-mounted motor producing 272 bhp, allowing it to sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds.
The CLA 200 variant offers a smaller battery with a respectable 542 km range and a 0-100 kmph time of 7.5 seconds.
Both variants benefit from an 800V electrical architecture, supporting DC fast charging up to 240 kW. This allows the Long Range model to add 400 km of range in just 20 minutes, significantly reducing charging downtime during long trips.
Futuristic Design and AI-Powered Interiors
The CLA EV retains its iconic "four-door coupe" silhouette but introduces a futuristic design language. It features a closed-off grille illuminated by 142 animated three-pointed stars and a remarkably low drag coefficient of 0.21 Cd.
Inside, the cabin is a tech masterpiece featuring:
-
Dual-Screen Setup: A 14-inch central touchscreen paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
-
AI Integration: The new MBUX Virtual Assistant integrates ChatGPT and Google Gemini, offering conversational voice control.
-
Practicality: In a first for a Mercedes EV, the CLA includes a 101-litre "frunk" (front trunk) alongside a 405-litre rear boot.
