Maruti to establish 25,000 EV charging stations
With India’s adventure of electric vehicle transition and players trying to capture a piece of the market, automaker Maruti Suzuki India is also planning to establish around 25,000 EV charging stations ahead of the introduction of its electric SUV.
At the Auto Expo 2023, the business initially disclosed plans to introduce a midsize SUV known as the 'Concept eVX' in India by next year.
Citing sources, ET reported that the company is in talks with different energy companies and oil marketing companies (OMCS) to establish a charging ecosystem which has been the biggest impediment in the nation’s journey of faster adoption.
Further, the report underlined that Maruti has already initiated surveying their dealer workshops for charging locations.
"The plan is to have at least one dedicated bay and two charge points at its service centres. The company has already started training service mechanics in Bengaluru," Inc42 reported.
