Mahindra XUV400EL Pro VS Tata Nexon EV: Detailed review

Since its introduction, the Tata Nexon EV has been a competitor of the Mahindra XUV400 in the Indian market for a considerable amount of time. The Tata Nexon EV has outsold the other one, and the main reason for this is because the Tata Motors SUV has more features and a longer-lasting battery. Mahindra has been aware of this problem and has developed a speedy solution, the XUV400 EL Pro, to address it. Although sales of the previous model will not cease, this new version is not your average variant. This is why it's actually a game-changer for the section.

A brand-new dashboard and, more significantly, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay are two significant upgrades for the Mahindra XUV400 EL Pro. The system now has over 50 linked functionalities that improve occupant convenience and safety thanks to Adrenox. The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is aesthetically pleasing and has configurable displays with detailed and comprehensible readouts.

Compared to the previous XUV100, both of these displays provide a far more superior and high-end experience. The new multifunctional flat-bottom steering wheel, which raises the new cabin's quality factor, is the other notable modification. The dual-zone automatic climate control system, which allows for different temperatures on either side of the central console, further enhances the comfort of the interior. Along with over-the-air (OTA) upgrades, rear AC vents, a back USB port, and a wireless charging pad are now available to buyers of the new EL Pro model. All things considered, the interior now seems appropriately upscale and sophisticated, providing remarkable comfort, connectivity, and technology for the passengers.

Without any technological changes, the other significant shift occurs in the powertrain sector. Customers may now choose the EL Pro model with the smaller 34.5 kWh battery in addition to the bigger 39.4 kWh unit, even though the battery and motor characteristics are unchanged as before. This is a really wise decision because the buyer won't have to give up features in order to get the smaller battery pack. Furthermore, the business has reduced the purchase price for urban consumers without compromising any of the fantastic new features.

Starting at Rs 15.49 lakh for the base model with the bigger battery pack and going up to Rs 17.49 lakh for the top variant, the new Mahindra XUV400 EL Pro range is available now at Rs 15.49 lakhs(ex-showroom prices). The updated XUV400 guarantees that technology and features meet segment standards and provide excellent value for the money at these rates.

Remember that this latest modification hasn't affected the XUV400's standing as one of the most roomy cars in its class. The EL Pro is still enjoyable to drive, and our testing indicates that the bigger battery should allow the car to achieve a realistic range of about 300 km. This new version has a significant edge over its competitors since it allows the consumer to choose the type of battery they want and choose the price. We can confidently state that the revised XUV400 EL Pro is now among the greatest EVs in the sub-Rs20 lakh class as a consequence of these improvements.
