Mahindra BE.07 Electric SUV Spied Testing in India for the First Time, launch soon

Mahindra’s "Born Electric" vision is rapidly moving from concept to reality. Following the buzz around the XEV 9e and BE 6, the Mahindra BE.07 has finally been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time. The sighting of this heavily camouflaged test mule marks a major milestone for the SUV, which was first showcased as a concept in late 2022.

Positioned as a premium mid-size electric SUV, the BE.07 is expected to be a high-volume driver for Mahindra’s EV vertical. Here is everything we know so far about the production-ready version.

Design: Concept vs. Reality

While the test mule was covered in camouflage, several design elements remain faithful to the original BE.07 concept. The SUV features a very "upright" and "boxy" stance, giving it a sophisticated, Range Rover-esque silhouette.

Key design highlights include

  • Aero-optimized wheels : Large alloy wheels designed to reduce drag and increase range.

  • Flush Door Handles : A signature feature of the BE-series to improve aerodynamics.

  • Raked Glasshouse : A sharply angled front and rear windshield that gives it a sporty yet rugged look.

  • C-Pillar Design : The thick C-pillar seen on the concept appears to have made it to the production stage.

The INGLO Platform and Performance

The BE.07 is built on Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO platform. Unlike ICE-derived EVs, this "born-electric" architecture allows for a flat floor and maximized cabin space.

While official technical specs are under wraps, industry experts suggest:

  • Battery Options : It will likely share battery packs with its siblings, ranging between 59kWh and 79kWh.

  • Range : Expect a real-world range of approximately 450–500 km on a full charge.

  • Dimensions : Measuring roughly 4.6 meters in length, it will offer a more traditional SUV body style compared to the coupe-like BE 6.

Interior & Tech: A Triple-Screen Experience

Though the interior wasn't fully captured in the latest spy shots, the BE.07 concept featured a massive dashboard-spanning triple-screen layout. It is highly likely that the production version will retain this setup, offering a seamless interface for the driver and the front passenger, similar to the tech-heavy XEV 9e.

Launch Timeline and Rivals

Mahindra recently confirmed during a quarterly earnings call that the BE.07 is slated for a 2027 launch. However, with testing now in full swing, enthusiasts are hoping for a late 2026 reveal.

Once launched, the Mahindra BE.07 will enter a high-stakes battle in the premium EV segment, competing directly with the Tata Harrier EV, upcoming Safari EV, and the VinFast VF 7.
