Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has declared that Maharashtra will lead India’s electric vehicle (EV) revolution, officially launching Tesla’s first Experience Centre in Mumbai.

“Maharashtra will be the EV capital of India — with Tesla, Tata, Mahindra, and Ola investing heavily in our state,” said Fadnavis at the Tesla centre inauguration.

The Mumbai Tesla Experience Centre will double as a delivery hub, logistics zone, and service centre, marking a major milestone for India’s premium EV segment.

Tesla India + Maharashtra = A Game-Changer

The announcement follows Tesla’s aggressive India entry, with services set to expand to two more Indian cities. In Mumbai alone:

  • 32 public EV charging stations are being installed
  • 4 high-capacity charging hubs are planned
  • Tesla’s full portfolio will be serviced via the new facility
