Record-Breaking Delivery: 150 Kia Syros EVs Handed Over in a Single Day in Kerala
In a massive boost to India’s electric mobility transition, Kia India has achieved a monumental milestone with its newly launched Syros EV. On August 17, 2026, authorized dealer Incheon Kia delivered a staggering 150 units of the Syros EV at a single mega event in Kerala.
A Festive Milestone and National Record
The mega delivery event took place at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi, perfectly timed to coincide with Chingam 1 the Malayalam New Year and the beginning of the auspicious Onam season. Adding a traditional touch to the modern EV revolution, the 150 electric vehicles were stunningly arranged in a traditional Onam Pookalam (floral pattern) display before being flagged off in a convoy.
This massive handover earned Incheon Motors Private Limited an official entry into the India Book of Records for the “Maximum Single-Model Electric Car Sold by a Dealer in a Day”. The event saw attendance from top Kia executives, including Kia India MD & CEO Gwanggu Lee and Incheon Kia Chairman M.A.M Babu Moopan.
Unprecedented Demand and Booking Numbers
The Kia Syros EV is experiencing tremendous traction in the Kerala market. Incheon Kia revealed that total bookings for the electric SUV have already crossed the 650-unit mark. Remarkably, the dealership had secured over 100 pre-bookings even before the official prices were announced. The 150 EVs delivered on Chingam 1 represent just the first major batch for early customers. Across the state, total Kia deliveries on that single day reached 500 units.
Kia Syros EV Specs: Range, Battery, and Price
Launched in July 2026, the mass-market Syros EV offers an enticing blend of performance and affordability.
Pricing & BaaS: The EV is priced between ₹13.49 Lakh and ₹19.99 Lakh (ex-showroom). However, buyers can opt for the innovative Battery-as-a-Subscription (BaaS) model, which slashes the upfront entry price to an incredibly affordable ₹7.99 Lakh, alongside a nominal battery rental of ₹3.30 per km.
Battery & Range: Customers can choose between two battery packs: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The 42 kWh variant delivers a claimed ARAI range of 443 km, while the larger 51.4 kWh battery pushes the range up to an impressive 526 km.
Performance: The 51.4 kWh pack is paired with an electric motor producing 171 hp and 255 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 8.1 seconds. The 42 kWh version provides 135 hp with the same 255 Nm of torque.
Expanding Green Infrastructure
Beyond vehicle sales, Incheon Kia is investing heavily in the broader EV ecosystem to support buyers.
Ultra-Fast Charging: The dealership's flagship Nettoor facility now features a 240 kW DC ultra-fast charger, capable of juicing a compatible premium EV to 80% in under 20 minutes.
Solar Investment: In a push for sustainability, the dealer has committed a ₹10 crore investment to expand its rooftop solar capacity from 250 kW to 2 MW by the end of 2026. This initiative is projected to generate 24 lakh units of clean electricity annually, mitigating nearly 1,900 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.
This record-setting day highlights not only the strong product appeal of the Kia Syros EV but also Kerala’s rapid and enthusiastic shift toward clean, electric mobility.
