Kia Syros EV Breaks Cover: 526 km Range and Pre-Bookings Open in India
Kia India has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Syros EV, marking its second mass-market electric vehicle in the country. If you are wondering how this new launch might impact your next car purchase, EVINDIA has got you covered. With a token amount of INR 25,000, pre-bookings are now open across dealerships and the Kia India website. The Syros EV arrives with two battery pack options and a host of ownership incentives designed to ease the transition to electric mobility.
Unmatched Range and Battery Specifications
Addressing range anxiety head-on, the Kia Syros EV is the first vehicle in its segment to cross the 500 km mark. Buyers can choose between two configurations:
-
Standard Range: Equipped with a 42 kWh battery pack, delivering an ARAI-certified range of 443 km.
-
Extended Range: Features a larger 51.4 kWh battery pack that provides a segment-leading 526 km range (MIDC Full).
The 51.4 kWh variant is powered by a front-axle electric motor producing 171 PS of power and 255 Nm of torque. This allows the compact SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.1 seconds.
Fast Charging and K-Charge Ecosystem
For everyday convenience, the Syros EV supports 100 kW DC fast charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 39 minutes. Home charging is also simplified with an available 10.8 kW onboard AC charger.
Through the MyKia app, the unified K-Charge ecosystem gives owners access to over 20,300 public charging points across 23 Charge Point Operators using a single wallet.
Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Lifetime Warranty
To drastically reduce the initial acquisition cost, Kia has introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing model, allowing buyers to rent the battery pack at a rate of Rs 3.3 per kilometre. Furthermore, the vehicle includes:
-
A Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty (covering up to 15 years).
-
An Assured Buyback program to safeguard the vehicle's residual resale value.
Tech-Loaded Cabin and Safety
The interior is highlighted by a segment-first 30-inch Wide Trinity Panoramic Display Panel, seamlessly integrating the digital instrument cluster, infotainment touchscreen, and climate controls into one fluid dashboard element.
Safety is uncompromised, with the Syros EV boasting Level 2 ADAS containing 16 autonomous driving features, alongside 25 standard safety inclusions such as six airbags and all-wheel disc brakes. Expected to be priced competitively between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom), the Syros EV is poised to be a dominant and accessible force in the Indian EV market.
