JSW MG Motor India is now India’s second-largest luxury EV brand

JSW MG Motor India has climbed to the position of the country’s second-largest luxury carmaker in September 2025, as strong demand for its newly launched MG Cyberster sports car and MG M9 Presidential Limousine continues to surge, Vahan data reported.  As per the data, both models are witnessing waiting periods of up to four months due to overwhelming bookings.

Citing Milind Shah, Interim Head of MG Select, NDTV reported, "Securing the second spot in India's luxury EV segment is a testament to the phenomenal response our models have received. Both the MG Cyberster and the MG M9 Presidential Limousine are drawing discerning customers who seek something truly exclusive, whether it's the sheer exhilaration of open-top performance or the presence of uncompromising luxury. At MG Select, we're proud to create this exclusive ownership experience."

As per MG, the MG Cyberster, firstly staged at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and introduced in July 2025, has sold 256 units through its upscale retail outlet, MG Select, making it the best-selling sports car in India.

In September 2025, JSW MG Motor India reported total monthly sales of 6,728 units, showcasing a 34% year-over-year (YoY) increase over the 5,021 units sold in September 2024.

The recent GST cut and the start of the Navratri holiday season improved consumer morale and generated significant sales momentum, helping the company's expansion plans. This accomplishment was made possible by JSW MG Motor India's ICE and EV models, NDTV reported.
