JK Tyre launches its EV-specific tyre range in India.
On 29th July, JK Tyre launched their EV-specific tyre range in India, the new range of radial tyres for electric four-wheelers are released to capture the electric four-wheeler market in India. The company also announced that they have developed a whole range of tyres for electric buses, trucks (LCVs), cars, and bikes.
These tyres offer very low rolling resistance and improved sidewalls to bear the weight of the heavy battery packs. The tread patterns are designed using FEA simulations to reduce tyre noise or the tyre ‘hum’ greatly.
JK Tyre is the first manufacturer in India to come out with EV-specific tyres which meet the ultra-low noise expectations and these tyres provide the customer with improved wet and dry traction.

These tyres are manufactured to meet the performance expectations of Electric trucks, buses, passenger vehicles, and two-wheelers.Mr V K Misra the Technical Director at JK Tyre & Industries ltd. said in the announcement, “With the evolution of the EV sector in India, the development of EV-oriented technology remains a key focus for the company. Our smart tyres are developed with EV-specific next-gen design philosophy making the entire range Smarter, Quieter, Durable and Energy Efficient.”
A thing that we all should focus on is that the tyre making giant has developed a range of tyres for all vehicles like trucks, buses, light passenger vehicles, and two-wheelers. Due to this development, JK tyre is in a cosy spot as the electrification of transport is moving forward every day, being the first to enter this market can be very profitable to the company.
Right behind JK Tyre, Apollo tyres is also planning to launch its all-new range of EV-specific tyres on August 1st for both passenger vehicles and Two-wheelers.
